Chasity Nuñez and her daughter Zella were shot and killed inside their car in the area of Lisbon Street at Englewood Avenue around 3 p.m. on March 5. Two men have since been arrested in the slayings.

The GoFundMe hopes to raise $100,000, some of which will cover the burial costs for Chasity Nuñez and 11-year-old Zella Nuñez. The remaining money will go to the care of Chasity's 2-year-old daughter Isla and her family.

The fundraiser discusses how the family has rallied to care for Isla and their struggle to understand the loss.

The Nunez family finds themselves in profound sorrow. The loss of Chasity and Zella, coupled with the incomprehensible nature of their passing, has left us reeling with grief. As friends of the Nunez family, we humbly reach out through this GoFundMe campaign, seeking your assistance in any form possible. Whether through financial contributions or sharing our cause, every gesture of support, no matter how small, is profoundly valued.Your generosity will alleviate the burden of funeral expenses for the family. Any surplus funds will be directed towards supporting the financial needs of Chasity's two-year-old daughter, left behind in the wake of this tragedy. While we cannot undo the pain of their loss, together, we can help the Nunez family honor the memory of Chasity and Zella as they begin the arduous journey of rebuilding their shattered lives.

A memorial service for the mother and daughter is set for later this week.

Karel Mangual, 28, was arrested and charged days after the shooting with armed assault to murder and carrying a firearm without a license. He is being held without bail, authorities said.

Dejan Belnavis, who fled to California, was arrested on Monday, March 11. Worcester police have traveled to San Diego to bring him back to face charges, authorities said.

Police have not speculated on a motive for the killings.

Chasity Nuñez was a Brooklyn native who worked at MIT Healthcare Innovation as a patient safety and clinical quality coordinator, according to her LinkedIn. Her mother told the Daily Mail that Chasity had earned two master's degrees from Worcester State University. She was also a US Army National Reservist.
